The Hercules DJControl Jogvision has an ace up its sleeve – some of the best jogwheels we’ve ever seen on any DJ controller at any price. In this tutorial we explain how to get the best from them, and also some other standout features of the unit.

One of the most interesting controllers from the past 12 months has been the Hercules DJControl Jogvision, the company’s first Serato DJ controller, and one differentiated from the pack by its truly awesome jogwheels. These jogs are so good they’ll be like a breath of fresh air to anyone coming to controller DJing from vinyl or CDJs.

I made this special video tutorial is primarily to help our readers who have written in asking about the special features of the controller, but it’d also be useful for anyone considering buying the controller. I look primarily at those great jogwheels and how they can be used for intuitive cueing and scratching without looking at the laptop.

While we had it all set up, we thought it would also be nice to demonstrate the “air” control of the filters on this model (think using your hand to modulate the music…), and also to quickly explain how the performance pads work (in the small space left for them after those amazing jogwheels have grabbed most of the real estate!).

What, no review?

This isn’t a review of the controller (go here to read our Hercules Jogvision review). But if you want to see how these features work, either because you own it and are unsure of you’re interested in buying one, watch on…
