SoundSwitch
SoundSwitch, the software / hardware solution that syncs Serato DJ with DMX lighting, is now available.

SoundSwitch, the hardware / software package that lets you create your own light shows, is now available for purchase. It’s a combination that runs in parallel with Serato DJ, and it lets Serato “talk” with industry-standard DMX lighting: You code lighting commands to a music file using the SoundSwitch app on your laptop. These commands get stored, and whenever you play that song in Serato DJ, SoundSwitch sends those commands to your lighting rig that you’ve got connected to the SoundSwitch hardware box.

Purchasing SoundSwitch now gets you the beta version of the SoundSwitch software, and you’ll be sent the SoundSwitch hardware along with the final software release by 12 August 2016.

SoundSwitch
You script lighting commands for songs in the SoundSwitch app. Whenever you play those songs in Serato DJ, those commands get sent out to the lights connected to the SoundSwitch hardware box.

More creative control is available to the DJ now than ever before. While music is the main concern of the DJ, secondary responsibilities such as handling visuals has been a part of the DJ space for a while now (think VJing). However, this is the first time that we’re seeing an all-inclusive audio / visual solution in a DJ app: by using Serato DJ, you could control video playback with Serato Video, execute a custom light show through SoundSwitch, and still keep mixing and music programming as top priorities.
