Want more space and storage for your gear? Output, creators of the Platform studio desk, just announced Sidecar. It’s a stylish and customisable companion storage unit consisting of shelves and cabinets. The top of Sidecar can be used to place a synth or keyboard, and the optional sliding shelf below it can house a Midi controller like the Ableton Push 2 or even a turntable.

Below that is a cavity that can house your rackmount studio gear like EQs, compressors and interface, or even your vinyl. Finally, the cabinet section can be used to store cables, external hard drives, boxes and more.

We love Output for its music production apps like Arcade and Exhale, and we think it’s awesome that the company continues to beef up its studio furniture catalogue with this new Sidecar unit. It’s an homage to recording studio sidecars of the past that would house essential hardware gear to keep them within easy reach of the producer or engineer. We think it will do well for the company and will be extra tempting for current owners of the Platform studio desk.
