In a development that will not surprise anyone, Serato has announced that support for using its stems functions when streaming music from Tidal is being phased out.

Official announcement from the Serato DJ team.

In the case of Serato, Stems will cease to function when you are using music from Tidal’s streaming service within Serato software, as of the update being rolled out from 11 December. So if you want to hang on to Tidal Stems, don’t update your Serato for as long as possible!

We’ll keep you updated on developments to this story as they happen, because maybe Tidal will have a change of heart in the new year. But as of now, Tidal Stems are a no-go for DJs, and if you are using them, you’re unfortunately on borrowed time.
