Reloop Modular Stand Review

Last updated 7 February, 2024

The Lowdown

Unique in that it’s just like the best DJ laptop stands only smaller, the Reloop Modular Stand is just as good with iPads as it is DJ accessories such as the Reloop Neon, and is reasonably priced, too.

In Use

The stand comes boxed but with no bag, and has interchangeable front feet, although the rubberised screws at the front for holding the front side of whatever you put on it did the job fine for us, rendering the lipped feet unnecessary, in either provided size.

It folds out into a classic DJ “sideways U” shape (think most DJ laptop stands), with one angle and one height, and once set up is extremely sturdy (set-up takes about five seconds). Even though this kind of stand often wobbles a bit due to the shape, this one is so small that it really isn’t an issue at all.

DJing with a small device such as a Reloop Neon or iPad requires no “give” when pressing the touchscreen or buttons, and it does that job fine (at least, it did on our workbench) and its tubular and rectangular metal construction and smart Reloop branding means it looks as good as it performs.

Folded up, it’s just 24 x 13cm and maybe 3cm deep – easily small enough to tuck in your coat pocket.

Conclusion

Not much to add really, except that if you want a stand to lift a secondary “accessory” controller up above the surface of your DJ booth or studio table so it doesn’t hurt your back when performing, or if you’ve been looking for the perfect iPad stand to DJ with, this one is great.

Due to the fixed angle and layout of the stand, it’s no good for a vertical modular controller such as the Traktor Kontrol X1 or F1, but for horizontal devices, it’s perfect. And iPads. Did I mention that? Very slight diagonal wobble on the early model we had when used with an iPad (was fine with the Neon), but hopefully that’s just pre-production stuff and yours will be fine.
