The Lowdown

The Peavey PV6BT is an affordable two-channel mixer suited for portable DJ set-ups. With its impressive price and build quality, thoughtful design and complete input and output options, the Peavey PV6BT is an excellent choice for DJs who want a small footprint mixer.

First Impressions / Setting up

It has stereo 1/4″ main outputs, USB connectivity, dedicated instrument and RCA inputs and a rugged 1/4″ headphone jack can be found on the bottom right of the mixer. Each channel gets a three-band EQ, EQ bypass button, and a pan knob. There is also a built-in compressor, digital effects and an LED signal meter. The added Bluetooth functionality allows the PV6BT to pair with your smart device and also comes with a slot for your smartphone/tablet.

The Peavey PV6BT, like most compact hardware mixers, is fairly straightforward to set-up with some experience and there were no issues found with its Bluetooth functionality.

In Use

An important factor when considering a mixer is their build quality and the PV6BT is solid in that category. The inputs, especially the headphone jack, feel extra sturdy. The knobs feel great to turn and the metal chassis looks like it can take some abuse during transport and use. With its affordable price tag, the Peavey PV6BT is fairly impressive with its complete set of I/O and build quality.

Several Amazon reviews praised the PV6BT for its reliability and overall portability but a reviewer mentioned that it does not come with a USB connector which is a minor letdown.

Conclusion

With its impressive price and build quality, thoughtful design and complete input and output options, the Peavey PV6BT is an excellent choice for DJs who want a small footprint mixer.
