The Lowdown
The Decksaver for the Prime 4 is a transparent cover that’s custom made to fit on the face of the unit. Like all over Decksavers, it’s virtually indestructible, can be stamped / stood on an not crack, and will last a lifetime. A bit pricey, but it’s a must if you want to showcase your Prime 4 and keep it free from dust, and scratches during transport. Recommended.
Video Review
First Impressions / Setting up
Decksaver is a company that makes durable polycarbonate lids for gear, whether that’s for DJing, music production, and even concert touring. We’ve used, abused and reviewed their gear over the past decade and we have nothing but great things to say about these protectors.
In Use
We recently had a chance to get our hands on a prototype Decksaver for the Prime 4, which is custom moulded to fit the flagship all-in-one unit from Denon DJ. It’s great because that means our Prime 4 can sit atop our studio desk (though currently it’s sat in a boutique DJ desk in my living room) without collecting dust. The Decksaver also protects it from accidental bumps when not in use (great because I’ve got kids) and also during transport.
The Denon DJ Prime 4 ships with a plastic cover that fits over its screen to protect it from damage, and you’re still able to keep that on while using this Decksaver. If you’re planning on transporting your Prime 4, the Decksaver is a must if you want to keep those knobs and faders safe, especially if you are thinking of placing it in a large DJ bag.
Conclusion
The Prime 4 Decksaver is a must for those who want maximum protection for the face of the unit when in storage or in transport. If you gig with the Prime 4 heavily, or want to keep it free from dust while laid out and not in use, get a Decksaver. Recommended.
