Reloop Neon
The Reloop Neon is an eight pad, velocity-sensitive accessory controller for Serato DJ.

Reloop announced today its Neon pad controller, an official Serato DJ accessory featuring eight touch-sensitive RGB drum pads for triggering cue points, playing samples from the SP6 sample player in Serato DJ, looping, and effects use. The Reloop Neon is also compatible with Serato Flip, a brand new add-on pack for Serato DJ that lets you create edits on the fly. Aside from the eight velocity-sensitive pads, the Reloop Neon also has two endless rotary encoders for manipulating volume levels, editing loop length, browsing through your library, and scrubbing through a track.

It’s cool to see Reloop joining the modular device game, particularly with something as versatile and budget-friendly as this. By pairing this with an inexpensive controller like the Numark Mixtrack Edge or the Denon MC2000, you can gain access to more advanced Serato DJ features like Slicer mode and Serato Flip without having to part with a thick wad of cash. Do note that the Reloop Neon is given “Official Serato Accessory” status, meaning you’ll still need a Serato DJ compatible controller or mixer in order to run Serato DJ properly.

We just received our demo unit here at Digital DJ Tips HQ, so check back as the week progresses for our full review on it!

• The Reloop Neon will be available in October 2014 at US$149 retail. Check out the Reloop website for more details.
