Phase just launched a beta of its MWM Connect app that has a new “Battery Saving” feature. It lets Phase users save up to two hours of battery life by throttling the battery usage of the Phase remotes. A new battery over-discharge prevention feature has also been implemented which minimises battery swelling and similar damage.
Phase continues to improve, which is good news for owners. It had a rough start when it launched earlier this year because of battery and connection issues as well as reliability concerns, so it’s great to see the Phase team making good on its promise to squash bugs that have plagued users for months. If and when Phase becomes rock solid, it’ll then reach its full potential as the timecode replacement that it’s been touted as.
