Rekord Buddy 2 offers one way
Rekord Buddy 2 offers one way of moving cue points, beatgrids and the like from Traktor to Rekordbox… can you help our reader with any other ways?

Digital DJ Tips Platinum member Diego writes: “Hi Guys, I need your help please. I am in the process of selling my Traktor Kontrol S4 and moving all my library from Traktor to Rekordbox. Now, what’s the best way to save my Traktor playlists then transfer all the contents (cue points, comments, keys ) into Rekordbox?”

Digital DJ Tips says:

Before starting, it’s worth reinforcing that Traktor doesn’t contain any music – only, as Diego asks, things like playlists, cue points, comments, key info and so on. In common with all DJ software, Traktor only references the tracks, in whatever location they were in on your hard drive when you imported them.

Firstly, it is possible to just drag and drop playlists between Traktor and Rekordbox – just open both programs and move them around on your desktop so you can see both libraries then use the mouse to move tracks or track selections as normal. Sadly, this will only move the playlist info, not the cues, beatgrids and so on.

Rekord Buddy 2 is a commercial program that is designed precisely to do this stuff, but it’s all-or-nothing, so you can’t do it playlist by playlist. Worth looking at though: It’s here. (It does Serato, too.)

However, we are open to suggestions here: If you’ve ever done this, and have any tips you’d like to share with Diego (dos, don’ts, mistakes you made…), please do so!
