NAMM 2025: Rane One Mk2, Phase Pro, Korg Handytraxx Play…

Last updated 29 January, 2025

The days of countless major product launches at music shows like NAMM are long gone, which is why we generally don’t bother attending them any more, but nonetheless every year there’s a handful of things worth letting you know about on. And so here’s our round-up of everything that we’ve spotted on day one at NAMM 2025 in Anaheim, Los Angeles:

Rane One Mk2 Serato motorised controller

Here’s our world-exclusive first picture of the Rane One MkII, hot from the NAMM 2025 show floor.

Perhaps the biggest news for DJs is that Rane has announced the forthcoming Rane One Mk2, a replacement for the popular Rane One Serato motorised controller.

This new unit has improved volume faders, an internal effects suite (like that on the Rane Performer, including fader effects), selectable channel effects on the filter knob, a secondary four-button section for each deck replacing the strip search for accessing various pad modes, a dedicated instrumental/acapella button, and some “new Serato Stems features”. It’s due summer of this year, but we have no further details at present.

Phase Pro

Phase Pro is a new, higher-end version of the Phase wireless scratch solution, with added touchscreens on the units themselves that can have your logo and even be Midi mapped.

Phase is a cool way to scratch using turntables without wires, control vinyl or a tonearm, and now Phase Pro has arrived. The big news is that they’ve added touchscreens to each Phase “puck” (the bit that sits on your turntable spindle), that lets you add touch buttons for things like FX and stems mapped to your software, or just your DJ logo.

Phase DJ says they have better tracking, battery life, wireless signal and build quality, too. Coming spring 2025, circa $800/pair.

Korg Handytraxx Play battery turntable

Korg’s Handytraxx Play is a DJ-focused new battery turntable, one of four announced at NAMM (and the only one actually on display).

This is one of four variants of portable turntable from Korg launched at NAMM, but it’s the one most interesting for DJs. It’s name is a nod to Vestax’s Handy Trax series, and it was created with input from former Vestax president Toshi Nakama, who sadly died in 2024 before Korg could release the decks.

Powered by batteries and USB-C and featuring built-in speakers, Handytraxx Play has a built-in looper, Korg FX, and a high-quality fader designed for scratching.

Mackie ProFX10 Go portable mixer

The Pro FX10 Go is battery powered, so it could be used as part of a portable livestreaming DJ set-up when away from outlet power, for instance.

Mackie has announced a “Go” line of mixers, spin-offs from its popular ProFX10 line. First out of the blocks is this new ProFX10 GO, a 10-channel audio mixer and 24-bit/192 kHz, 2×4 USB-C audio interface, It’s got built-in effects, Bluetooth, and a colour LCD display for editing and saving presets. but what sets it apart is its swappable built-in battery, which gives up to eight hours of use.

DJTechTools Chroma 256 DJ USB Drive

These neat little USB drives are great for DJs because they’re fast and they have both USB-A and USB-C.

We’re big fans of these little drives, because they look good, are well made, and you can export to them much faster than many brands and models allow. Plus, they’ve got USB-C and USB-A built-in, so no need for adaptors. Well, now DJTechTools has announced a 256GB version, so if you liked the original but just wanted double the storage, you’re in!

Finally…

We’ll keep an eye on the NAMM floor the next couple of days and if anything else drops we think you may like to know about, we’ll add it to this list, so do check back.
