[NAMM 2017] Videos: Gemini MAS-1 & Gemini SDJ-4000

Gemini’s forthcoming SDJ-4000 is a lot bigger and heavier than it appeared in the press pics.

Well now that was a surprise! We expected, from the PR images, two built-to-budget plastic items, and instead it turns out these two forthcoming products from Gemini – on show here at NAMM 2017 – are all-metal affairs, the MAS-1 in particular being much bigger and better built than we’d thought.

This is a clever and original controller for DJs who want to perform using Ableton Live. This talkthrough contains a lot of info re the workflow, so if it intrigues you, watch and listen carefully. That stand is not in the slightest flimsy, by the way…

SDJ-4000 Video


This is an early prototype and Craig who demos it, had literally set hands on it a couple of hours before the video, so expect the finishes to improve and other details to change made before production. It was heavy!
