Lexicon has announced some big news for users of its DJ library management software. The company has launched its first ever mobile app, Lexicon v1.0, which is ready for all subscribers, in which DJs can set cues and beatgrids, create playlists, and update tags all on the go.
Furthermore, users of the Lexicon Windows and Mac apps can now enjoy much better BPM and Beatgrid analysis as part of the feature updates in Lexicon 1.7, which is also available to all users.
What Is Lexicon?
If you’ve not heard of Lexicon, one way of thinking about it is like iTunes, but specifically for DJs. It can export to and import from most major DJ software, such as Serato, Rekordbox, Traktor, VirtualDJ, and Engine DJ, and a full subscription to Lexicon comes with unlimited cloud storage for all of your music.
This means you can work on your music anywhere, including your mobile device, and when you want to DJ on any of those platforms, you can export to them, as well as import directly from them.
DJ-specific features
Because it’s designed for DJs, it has plenty of features that you don’t get on iTunes, (or Music, as it’s now called, of course), with things like library cleanup and bulk tools for editing and tagging – you even get access to online charts.

The app seems to have forged a decent user base since its launch a few years ago, and broadly does what Rekordbox Cloud achieves for users of the Pioneer DJ/AlphaTheta ecosystem, but with added cross-platform functionality.
