Launchpad Mk2
The Launchpad Mk2 brings some cosmetic upgrades to the popular Ableton Live grid controller, including backlit RGB pads.

Novation just announced an update to its popular Launchpad grid controller for Ableton Live. The Launchpad Mk2 gets a cosmetic upgrade, borrowing the aesthetics of Novation’s Launchpad Pro, including backlit RGB pads that change colour depending on the colour of your clips in Ableton. If you’re looking for a basic grid controller but don’t need the velocity-sensitive pads and extra controls that the Launchpad Pro offers, the new Launchpad fills that need.

Ableton Live is a flexible digital audio workstation that also doubles as performance software, and the original Launchpad was a favourite for folks who needed a simple grid controller that just worked straight out the box. The Launchpad Mk2 looks to continue that tradition for a whole new generation of bedroom producers and DJs.

• Release date and pricing for the Launchpad are forthcoming. Sign up at the Novation website to be notified of its availability.
