Denon DJ just released an update to its Engine Prime music management software. Version 1.1 of the app – used to prepare and export music to USB for playing on the company’s flagship SC5000 Prime media players – now includes the ability to import and view iTunes playlist folders and subfolders from within the Engine Prime app – something that will be welcomed by iTunes users as it allows for more convenient song management.

Other improvements include the ability to add hot cues and loop points while a track is still being analysed, and a new “missing files” crate when songs fail to be transferred over onto a thumb drive.

While there have been significant updates to the SC5000 Prime media player firmware, this is the first time we’re seeing a bump in the Engine Prime laptop app which was launched alongside the Prime Series last year.

• Denon DJ Engine Prime 1.1 is now available as a free download. Check the Denon DJ site for more details.
