Newcomer Epsilon-Pro has gone all Pioneer on us and announced a white version of its Quad-Mix four-channel DJ controller. It comes bundled with a copy of Virtual DJ LE, and has all the controls expected of four-channel controllers these days, save for a bank of drumpads. A highlight on this device, though, is its comprehensive input/output section, which includes XLR and RCA master outputs, a booth output, and phono/line inputs for channels three and four, allowing you to hook up turntables and CDJs respectively. The jogwheels also have sensitivity level controls so you can control how the jogs respond to your touch. Lastly, the Epsilon-Pro Quad-Mix comes with a microphone input.
While these features are hardly groundbreaking, the Quad-Mix seems to offer good value for the mobile/gigging DJ, considering that you’re getting myriad input/output options that are usually reserved for more expensive controllers and mixers. The line inputs alone can help you in a pinch when a guest at a function wants to play his or her iPhone or other line level device, and the balanced XLR outputs are a boon as they’re the preferred choice for longer cable runs to the sound system.
