Engine DJ 4.1 has dropped for all compatible standalone DJ systems. The big new feature it brings is Bluetooth out, which works for all recent equipment.

They’ve also added a smart headphone cue option, which will automatically switch the headphone cueing between the channels, meaning you don’t have to press the cue button manually if you prefer it to be set this way.

Bluetooth out is the most exciting new feature available in Engine DJ’s 4.1 update.

And there’s a big new feature for users of the diminutive Denon DJ Prime Go and new Prime Go+ – it now has a slip mode, accessed by holding down shift and tapping the vinyl button.

The company also says that various improvements have been made to the lighting features.

Beware: Make a back up!

One warning they’ve issued is that because the new 4.1 version of the software uses an updated database, it’s not backwards compatible with 4.0 databases.

So if you have any USB drives, for instance, which have a 4.0 database collection on them, this will be changed when you plug it into a unit running Engine DJ 4.1. Just make sure that if you want to return to 4.0 for any reason, you back up such drives.

Also, as always, make sure to update both the desktop software and the software on your unit (or units) as well to keep everything running smoothly.
