The latest version of the software adds a host of new features, the main ones being:

  • Touch FX – A range of new effects that utilise the touchscreen for X/Y control (they’re all demoed in the accompanying video)
  • Smart playlists – You can now sort your music dynamically using “smart playlist” rules in the Engine DJ desktop app, for easier set planning
  • New main FX – Engine DJ’s engineers have overhauled the main FX (but only if you’re using Denon DJ equipment), for better audio quality and controllability
  • Improvements to the drop sampler – You can now access with a double-tap of the Roll pad button, and you can also assign the sampler output to any of the four channels as well as to the master output as before

The Engine DJ team is also cryptically talking about another new feature that’s coming soon, but only on the new Prime 4+ equipment (which was also launched today – click here to go to the article). We’ll bring you more when we have it…
