Algoriddim just announced djay Pro compatibility with Apple’s new Force Touch trackpad, making it the first DJ app to support it.

A new version of djay Pro has just been released, and is now compatible with Apple’s new Force Touch trackpads. Actions that used to require multiple button and touch gestures can now be done with a single “force touch” (i.e. a hard push on the pad), such as force touching EQ to activate kill switches, and engaging channel filters.

djay Pro is the first DJ software to tailor some of its functions to the new trackpads appearing on the latest MacBooks and Macbook Pros, and we while it’s only likely to appeal to those using the software without a controller, there’s a chance if this catches on that the “big three” (Traktor, Serato DJ, Virtual DJ) will bake in some added force touch actions in later versions of their software. djay Pro has the leg up on this one at the moment, though, because it’s the only DJ software that’s strictly for Mac systems.

• This update also includes compatibility with the Reloop Beatpad 2 controller. djay Pro is available right now in the App Store for US$49. Get more details at the djay Pro website.
