Algoriddim has today announced that its djay mobile apps are officially compatible with the Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4 controller, just a week after Pioneer DJ announced its own mobile DJ app that works with that controller, Rekordbox for iOS v4.
The big difference here is that Algoriddim also has an Android DJ app, which currently is not the case with Rekordbox. The Rekordbox mobile app for Android is stuck on a previous version that is only intended for track preparation, not actual DJing, with no date confirmed for when a DJ-capable update will launch on Android.
Algoriddim’s djay is a capable and mature DJ app, and offers a viable alternative to the other ways of DJing using the Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4. Like Pioneer DJ’s official Rekordbox for iOS v4 app, you can attach your phone or tablet to the controller with a USB cable or wirelessly with Bluetooth.

Worth pointing out that although djay now works with the DDJ-FLX4, djay for Android remains a lesser alternative to the iOS djay app (nowadays called “djay Pro AI“), which is more frequently updated than its Android counterpart, and has more features, such as real-time stems DJing.
• Get the app on the iOS App Store and Google Play.
