Dillinger Labs has announced the launch of the world’s first wireless, battery-powered mobile subwoofer, called Death From Below (DFB). The Canada-designed product is available for pre-order now and is set to ship in March 2024.

The DFB is an AC-powered subwoofer, but crucially, with a robust battery option built-in. It offers pro-grade SKAA wireless audio that is entirely free of Bluetooth and WiFi, for lower latency, making it suitable for DJ use with other SKAA-enabled speakers (such as the full Soundboks range), plus with anything connected to any SKAA transmitter.

The Death From Below subwoofer easily pairs with all Soundboks models (3, 4, and Go), though adding a pro receiver means any powered speaker can be converted to SKAA wireless.

Key specifications include a wireless range of up to 50 metres, 122dB power, and a frequency response of 35Hz to 180Hz. The battery offers up to 40 hours of battery life at “regular listening volume”.

DFB is not limited to Soundboks; it can complement virtually any full-range PA speaker. By adding a pro receiver such as Streetheart by Dillinger Labs, any powered speaker can be converted to SKAA wireless.

The product will retail for US$899. More info on the Dillinger Labs website.
