So, about DJing and being introverted…
It was an interesting discussion, because it is my feeling that actually, many (maybe even the majority of) DJs are introverts, who use DJing and music as a way of getting out there and socialising! We get into music precisely because it is our way of communication, and more so if we’re naturally introverts.
While DJing does involve a certain amount of “leading the party”, which would appear to be something that’d come more easily to extroverts, it is possible to look like you want to be there without going overboard. And with preparation, picking your gigs correctly (smaller is good), and judicious use of the headphones (they make an excellent “barrier”), introvert DJs can put themselves in the position where the magic is likely to happen… and once the music and the vibe takes over, well, we all know the feeling that comes next.
But do let us know your thoughts in the comments!
