Aumeo
Aumeo optimises the sound coming out of your headphones for a personalised listening experience based on your ears’ sensitivity.

Want to get the most out of your headphones? Aumeo aims to optimise your cans by modifying how they sound according to how good (or bad, as is the case with most of us DJs) your hearing is. It’s like the EQ on a mixer, except that Aumeo is calibrating the sound of your headphones specifically for your ears.

Aumeo works by syncing the unit, which is a small box with a volume dial, to the AumeoHub app (available for Android and iOS) via Bluetooth. The app measures your hearing by playing you a number of sounds at different frequencies, and you adjust the volume dial on the Aumeo box until you can barely hear them. Your personalised Audio Profile is then created, which is like a tailored EQ that compensates for your hearing sensitivity across different frequencies. You then connect your headphones to the Aumeo box, and you’re all set.

AumeoHub
AumeoHub is an app that syncs your smartphone with Aumeo, and it measures your hearing sensitivity across different frequencies.

It sounds interesting in theory – imagine hearing music through your headphones the way it was intended, free of any lack of clarity caused by hearing loss. Maybe your ears have sustained significant damage through the years, and you struggle to hear treble frequencies (they’re the first to go). You may just be able to hear those nuances again if Aumeo does as it claims. We’ve not had a chance to try it yet, but we are definitely interested in it so check in for our review in the coming weeks.
