Arturia just announced a compressor plugin suite for DJ/producers that is based on emulations of legendary vintage gear. Cheekily dubbed “3 Compressors You’ll Actually Use”, the bundle features faithful recreations of the UREI 1176, the DBX 165 and the rare Gates-STA tube compressor, all of which are hallowed pieces of recording studio hardware costing thousands of dollars used.
Unlike their hardware counterparts, the plugin suite costs just US$199 and is on sale now at an introductory price of US$99.
Compression is a crucial element in dance music production heard on countless recordings, giving tracks that in-your-face sound as well as acting as a “glue” that holds a mix together and gives it a distinct, processed feel. Hardware emulations like those found on the 3 Compressors You’ll Actually Use aim to give your tracks a vintage vibe, adding character and warmth to your digital productions.
