In a world first, Algoriddim has today announced that its Djay Pro software across all platforms now integrates Apple Music, giving access to over 100 million songs in Apple Music’s library to DJs worldwide.

Not only that, DJs who use iTunes/Apple’s Music app to organise their own music can also access that music from the cloud alongside Apple Music’s catalogue seamlessly, in another first for any DJ streaming service.
The new feature is rolling out with Djay Pro updates as of now, and will be available on all Djay Pro platforms, so iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and Vision Pro – plus, we can exclusively reveal, on Windows and Android too.
What it means for current Djay Pro users
For current Djay Pro users, this is amazing news, especially those who use Apple Music, because it’s a truly global, top-tier music streaming service available to them and no other DJ platforms.

What’s more, because iTunes/Apple Music already has a smooth and proven way of handling “owned” music files built-in, it potentially offers a way to solve the Achille’s heel of Djay Pro, music library sync, by simply putting a DJ’s own collection right in Apple Music’s cloud – something not offered by any other streaming service.
What it means for the wider DJ world
Apple Music is a bona fide streaming giant, second only to Spotify and accessible in 167 countries, more than any other service. And because it’s now in a DJ platform, it opens DJing to many people worldwide who’ve never had the chance to DJ like this before.
Users can download any free version of Algoriddim’s DJ software and it’s automatically integrated with their Apple Music account on that device – with no further hoops to jump through – in a way that’s never been done before. Worth pointing out that utilising Apple Music’s “own” music sync in this way makes Djay Pro an instant rival to Rekordbox, as far as cloud sync goes – Rekordbox being the only other DJ software with any kind of cloud solution.
All of this has to be good news for DJ culture generally.
What it means for users of other platforms
So, for everyone else, the big question is: Will this be coming to other DJ software? Algoriddim themselves understandably wouldn’t be drawn into this line of discussion with me, so I have no definite answer on this, but I’ll take a guess:
While of course it is possible that (in time) we may see similar integrations in other platforms. at the same time, Djay Pro is unique in that Algoriddim has been in lockstep with Apple for many, many years: Tim Cook has been to their headquarters, their CEO, Karim, has been on the stage at an Apple Keynote, and Apple sees them as a key software partner for the Vision Pro. So I wouldn’t hold your breath on that.
Finally…
One thing is for certain: This puts Djay Pro back on the map when it comes to leading the charge with streaming services in DJ software, a position they held for many years, of course, as the only major platform with Spotify integrated. It’s great news for Algoriddim and Djay Pro users.

That said, we’ve always been wary of the way Apple Music handles local music (it’s notorious for replacing unique versions of songs with generic ones, and messing up artwork, so we need to play with it again and see if things have changed), so it remains to be seen how well this aspect works, although we understand that on Apple devices at least, DJ metadata will definitely be synced, which is promising. Unfortunately, though, real-time stems doesn’t work with Apple Music, which is definitely a shame.
