Akai Pro just announced Fire, a dedicated Midi controller made specifically for the FL Studio digital audio workstation.

It’s got a 4×16 grid of velocity-sensitive pads, an OLED display, four rotary knobs, transport controls, utility buttons and mute / solo switches. You can connect up to four Akai Pro Fires for a massive 8×32 grid matrix letting you create complex patterns and giving you more controls for performance and drum pad modes. It also comes with FL Studio Fruity Fire software to get you started making beats straight away.

FL Studio is a favourite among EDM and big room producers. It’s one of the longest-running DAWs and it’s got a strong following that’s been bolstered by the app finally making its way to the Mac earlier this year. This new controller from Akai Pro will only stoke the FL fire further and could make 2018 one of the DAW’s biggest years. Watch out for our review of it and FL Studio soon.
