Ableton just announced a public beta for Live 10.1, the latest version of the popular digital audio workstation. The update includes the new three-band Channel EQ plugin as well as the new Delay effect which is a combination of Live’s Simple Delay and Ping Pong Delay effects.

Other new features include workflow enhancements such as shortcuts for zooming in and out of a project, new automation shapes, and the ability to add your own wavetables in the Wavetable instrument for sound design and synthesis.

Live is already a powerful and versatile DAW, and it’s great to see Ableton push out updates that make it even more capable. The new Channel EQ plugin is a more visual take on the ageing EQ Three plugin, and sound designers and tweakheads will love the ability to import wavetables for some custom synth sounds (Serum is one other soft synth that lets you do this).
