AlphaTheta has just announced on the Rekordbox website that following over five weeks of the platform’s subscription system being down, users can now subscribe again to it, enabling new users who want the features of the Core, Creative, or Professional plans to finally be able to access them.
Only cloud allowed
However, there is a catch: the Cloud option – which allows the storing of a master music collection in Dropbox to use across more than one laptop/phone etc (and which was previously offered as an add-on for an extra cost), is no longer optional – at least for now. So if you wish to subscribe to one of the plans where it used to be, you’ll be paying more to do so.
The official announcement says this is to get operational again as quickly as possible, but there is no date as to when the non-cloud options will be made available once again. Note that the Professional option always included a cloud element, so that remains unchanged.
There is good news, though. If you’re prepared to pay the new prices today, you can at least get some of the more advanced functionality of Rekordbox once more after this long period where it’s been impossible to do so for new subscribers.
