Arturia just announced the KeyLab MKII, an update to its KeyLab range of Midi keyboards for DJ/producers. Coming in 49-key and 61-key models, the KeyLab MkII is made of aluminium and wood, and features Arturia’s Pro-Feel keyboard bed found on its premium Matrixbrute synthesiser. It’s got nine faders with rotary encoders, 16 velocity-sensitive drum pads, modulation and pitch bends wheels, and transport and browsing controls for your DAW. It also ships with Arturia’s Analog Lab software which contains over 6500 classic analogue synthesiser sounds from decades past, physically modelled and distilled in an easy to use plugin.

We loved the original KeyLab and it’s a workhorse in our production studio, especially since it works as a control surface within Ableton Live. We also think the Analog Lab software is fantastic for adding authentic vintage vibes to your productions: a sampling of the legendary synths include the Roland JP-8000, Sequential Prophet 6 and Yamaha DX-7. If you’re big on using timeless synth sounds in your productions, you’ll want to check it out. Watch out for our review of the KeyLab MkII soon.
