A-Trak has announced the Goldie Awards, a new DJ and beat maker competition that places a heavy emphasis on creativity and skill. The application process involves uploading a one-minute video showcasing your skills to Instagram or YouTube.
A-Trak and his panel of industry stalwarts will select six DJs and six producers from the submissions, and fly them out to New York to battle it out at the Goldie Awards finals, which will take place on 7 September 2017.
This looks like an awesome contest to showcase one’s deck skills and musicality. There doesn’t seem to be an online voting component, so it isn’t a popularity contest for certain.
