Melodics just updated its Melodics Pad Controller app for iOS, allowing you to practise with drum kits from its most popular lessons without an internet connection.

Melodics, the app that aims to teach you finger drumming and help hone your skills, has just updated its Melodics Pad Controller app for iOS. The main development here is that the drum sounds from the most popular Melodics lessons can now be used in a new “offline mode” for finger drum practice on the go.

In case you aren’t already familiar with the Melodics Controller App, it turns your iPhone or iPad into a grid pad, ready for use with the Melodics app on your laptop, which is really handy for users who don’t have a pad controller but own an iOS device.

“In this latest version, we’ve taken the samples from some of our most popular lessons and included them in a new offline mode,” says Sam Gribben, CEO of Melodics. “Once you’ve learnt the patterns in Melodics on your laptop, you can practise them on the go on your iPhone or iPad.”

It’s a good move by Melodics, and one that we are really glad for as it makes the app ideal for quelling the boredom of long flights and road trips!

• The Melodics Controller App is available to download for free from the Apple App Store. You can find out more on the Melodics website.
