Native Instruments recently add a step sequencer to Traktor, as of the 2.11 update. This brings Traktor in line with Serato (whose SP-6 sample player recently morphed into a full-blow sequencer), and rekordbox DJ, which has always had one. But now, Native Instruments has taken it a stage further by offering eight sequencer-friendly sound packs.
They are actually Remix Sets, but tailored to work with the step sequencer function of the Remix Decks, containing only one-shot drums and percussion samples, designed to be layered on top of running DJ tracks.
More about the step sequencer
Traktor’s step sequencer lets you add texture to your sets with your own unique sound using a Remix Set of one-shot samples. You can create patterns of any length across four individual sounds per Deck.
It works out of the box with the Traktor Kontrol S8 all-in-one controller and the Kontrol D2 performance decks. A custom Midi mapping for the Traktor Kontrol F1 is available, and in addition all functions are user Midi-mappable.
