Stanton’s parent company Gibson has acquired Deckadance, the DJ software from Image-Line, makers of the hugely popular FL Studio digital audio workstation. New hardware products, ongoing development, and continued support are promises the company has made to Deckadance users.
This is encouraging news for Stanton fans, with the company being all but gone from the digital DJ landscape in recent years. It’s a far cry for the group that helped pioneer the digital vinyl system back in the early 2000s, having developed the Final Scratch DVS in partnership with a then-fledgling Native Instruments.
Let’s not forget that Stanton is also one of the first to have brought an all-in-one DJ system with a full-colour display to market in the form of the SCS4.DJ, as well as modular DJ controllers before they were vogue. Clearly there’s a lot of innovation and vision within the Stanton ranks, and we’d love to see what they come up with now that they’ve got Deckadance in tow.
