What does Pioneer have in store for us at this year's BPM?
What does Pioneer have in store for us at this year’s BPM?

Digital DJ Tips has learned from an industry source that Pioneer is planning on launching not one but two new DJ controllers at the BPM Show in Birmingham, England over the weekend of 2-4 October 2010. The source – a product developer at a consumer electronics company – claims that “many of our customers at PLASA were shown them”, and that they are a Serato ITCH / Bridge DJ controller, and another controller for Traktor.

What type of controllers might they be?
Whether these will turn out to be rack-mounted units of the “traditional” type, or far cooler controllers like the Traktor S4 (of which units will also be on display at the show) remains to be seen, although I think I can speak for all reader of Digital DJ Tips when I say we hope it will be the latter. Pioneer has been lacking this kind of unit in their range sorely for a while now, so it would be a gap well filled. Our source also confirms that the Allen & Heath xone:DB4, described by the company as “the dog’s bollocks”, will be “a 4 channel mixer… price will be more than the RANE:68 and features will be close.”

Of course all of this could turn out to be wide of the mark, but that’s part of the fun isn’t it? Digital DJ Tips will be there ready to snap some pictures and report back to you with all the juicy details, ands one thing is for sure – BPM looks like being THE DJ show to attend in Europe this year.

Heard any rumours about BPM? Going to be there too? Let us know!
