Headphone maker AIAIAI has launched “Remixed”, an initiative allowing customers to trade in, repair, and repurpose their used AIAIAI headphones for credit towards a new or refurbished pair, with the aim of reducing electronic waste.

Headphones traded in as part of the programme will be professionally inspected by AIAIAI engineers before being revamped and “remixed” to extend their lifetime, in a bid to try and reduce the amount of electronic waste generated each year, what according to the UN in 2019 was 53.6 million tons.

AIAIAI is of course well known for its modular headphones, especially the TMA-2 series, and has launched headphones made from recycled vinyl in the past. The company says that with Remixed, it is taking the next step on its “journey towards creating headphones to last a lifetime”.
