Numark just announced the DJ2GO2 Touch, an update to its popular DJ2GO2 beginner controller. It ships with Serato DJ Lite and it now comes with touch capacitive jogwheels, letting you scratch with the jogs while a track is playing. Previously, the only way to scratch is with a track stopped in Serato’s decks (or if you use Virtual DJ’s simulated jogwheel scratch feature).
It still retains the same slim form factor that makes it easy to DJ just about anywhere. It has an onboard sound card where you can plug in your headphones as well as a pair of speakers, and a USB jack for connecting to your laptop.
We absolutely loved the DJ2GO2 because it was tiny, inexpensive and loads of fun to use. We’ve used it to DJ just about anywhere (see one of our DJ mix videos at the bottom of this page). But the lack of capacitive jogs was a bummer, and the unit was eclipsed in that respect by the Hercules DJControl Starlight – however, that’s been rectified now with the new DJ2GO2 Touch. Watch out for our review of it soon – though we’re willing to bet it’ll be as awesome as the DJ2GO2!
