Algoriddim just announced the latest version of djay for iOS and iPadOS. Now at version 3.2, it includes the ability to access music files from attached USB sticks and drives, along with cloud storage services such as iCloud. That gives you added flexibility when it comes to playing MP3s and other downloaded music since you aren’t tied to using just iTunes to transfer music to your iOS device. djay Pro subscribers also get new loop and visuals packs, along with a new performance screen in portrait mode for iPad users.

One of the annoying things about iOS devices is that you’ve got to jump through a few hoops to get files loaded: you either need to connect your iPhone or iPad via a Lighting to USB cable to your laptop and use iTunes, or you can sync files via iCloud. The latest iOS 13 makes things much simpler because you now have the option to browse external hard drives using the updated Files app. It’s a huge boon for djay users, and indeed anyone who uses an iPhone or iPad for creative pursuits such as video and photo editing as well as music production.

• djay for iOS 3.2 is available now in the App Store. Check the Algoriddim site for more details.
