DJs can now post mixes and videos on Pioneer DJ’s Kuvo platform directly, meaning it is easier than ever for them to promote themselves to fans via the platform.

As of v3.0 – released into the App Store today – DJs are able to post mixes and videos into a personal profile on the platform, along with gig information. Meanwhile clubbers can search via a new interactive club map to find where genres and dJs they love are playing.

Clubbers can specify local info (what’s going on around them), global (to find the best DJ mixes worldwide), and additionally create a personalised feed. As such, the Kuvo network is being overhauled to be more like a social network for clubbers, DJs and venues. the network has global aspirations, although is heavily biased towards the UK and Japan at present.

Because one of the cornerstones of Kuvo is that royalties get paid fairly (via a “Kuvo box” in DJ booths that logs what DJs are playing), uploading to it is legal.

The easiest way to upload music is via Rekordbox 5.2’s Live Playlist feature, which automatically adds the necessary titles and timestamps, but it is also possible to upload via the Kuvo website. Version 3.0 of the app is available today for iOS via the App Store, although at the time of writing there was no v3.0 on Google Play for Android.
