Pioneer DJ just launched its DM-40BT monitor speakers that have Bluetooth connectivity onboard. They’re an update to the DM-40 powered desktop speakers that were introduced last year, and they inherit the same 4″ woofer speaker and 3/4″ tweeter configuration. They’ve got a pair RCA and 1/8″ jack inputs in the back, as well as a headphone output and volume knob at the face of the right speaker. The new thing here is Bluetooth, letting you play music wirelessly whether that’s from your laptop, smartphone, or tablet.
We’ve already reviewed the Pioneer DJ DM-40, and we think they’re decent desktop speakers for bedroom DJs – they’re compact, loud, and pack quite a bit of punch in the lows given their size. The DM-40BT speakers seem to continue this tradition, and having Bluetooth onboard makes them more versatile for casual listening from any device. Watch out for our review of them soon.
