Roland just announced its DJ-202 controller for Serato DJ Intro and Serato DJ . It’s a two-channel, four-deck device with two large jogwheels, a three-band EQ section with filter and gain knobs, transport controls, mic input with Roland’s Vocal FX, and eight performance pads per channel. It also comes with a built-in drum machine containing samples from Roland’s legendary TR-808 and TR-909 drum kits, which can be sequenced and triggered via the performance pads. It also has a Midi output jack that can be used to connect the DJ-202 to other Midi-enabled gear (Roland’s Aira series of synthesisers and drum machines come to mind).

The Roland DJ-202 looks similar to the Pioneer DJ DDJ-RB, save for the more comprehensive effects control section and Roland’s black and green livery inherited from its Aria series.

Unlike the DJ-505 and DJ-808, it does not have separate buttons for the sequencer, but the TR-808 and TR-909 drum sounds can be controlled through the DJ-202’s performance pads.
