Numark is showing its new Dashboard here at NAMM 2016, and we got in early at the Media Preview Day to get an exclusive first look. Basically a set of screens akin to those found on the Numark NS7III, the Numark Dashboard can be added to any Serato set-up or controller, including DVS, to provide waveforms and library browsing including sorting, saving the need in many cases for the DJ’s laptop to be in sight, or even open at all.
It’s a pro-feeling design, and as well as making DVS DJing much more fun, and allowing anybody with any Serato DJ controller from any brand to add screens, we could imagine it installed in clubs so DJs could take advantage of it there, too. It has a USB hub built in so you can “daisychain” it into your system, meaning you don’t need any extra USB sockets on your computer; indeed, it even has an spare USB socket in case you want to plug something else in, too.
• The Numark Dashboard will sell for US$299 when it hits the market, shortly.
