Pioneer DJ just launched its XDJ-700 digital multi-player, a smaller player that inherits features from the XDJ-1000. It’s got an LCD touchscreen with a Qwerty keyboard, a removable stand that brings it up to the height of other Pioneer DJ gear, and Rekordbox compatibility built-in. It’s also got Pioneer’s Pro DJ Link onboard, so you can connect up to four XDJ-700s / other Pioneer players with a compatible DJM mixer and laptop via Ethernet.
It’s the next-gen successor to Pioneer DJ’s entry-level CDJ-350, and as such is aimed at DJs looking to add a bit of club flavour to their home set-up but who don’t want to spend a small fortune for a pair of CDJ-2000s , or for those who’d want to add some budget CDJ-style control to a portable four-channel controller set-up (the DDJ-SX2 and DDJ-RX come to mind). Finally, it also seems to be well-suited for bar / small club use thanks to its Pro DJ Link feature.
