Just announced is this neat gadget called the Evermix MixBox, an interface that turns your iOS device into a DJ set recorder. It sits between your DJ gear and your mobile phone, and it lets you immediately publish your DJ set on the Evermix streaming service.
The way it works is you connect MixBox to your controller or mixer’s output, and you connect your phone running the Evermix DJ app to it. The MixBox captures high-quality audio and then sends it to the Evermix DJ app which records it, along with any photos you’ve taken with your iPhone, iPad, or even your iPod touch. When you’re done, you can edit your mix before uploading it and the photos you’ve taken to the Evermix website thru the app.
While there are a lot of ways to record your DJ sets (almost all DJ software have a record function), none has yet provided a simple all-inclusive hardware / software / cloud solution that engages with your audience on this way. Evermix seeks to do that with MixBox and Evermix DJ, so whether you’re a controller DJ, someone who uses CDJs and USBs, or even a strictly vinyl jock, you’ve now got an interesting and quick way to share your mix online soon as you’re done.
