Michael M. Hughes
Michael M. Hughes has worked as a DJ, writer, mentalist (psychic stage entertainer), and performer. He began playing music for house parties a very long time ago, and quickly moved on to private parties, corporate events, and weddings.
In 2011, he helped organise The Baltimore Get Down, where he is currently resident DJ. Harkening back to the days of underground raves, the Baltimore Get Down was designed to provide grown ups (many of whom avoid the younger club scene) with a place to get down to the latest and best dance music without the distractions of a bar environment.
The popular event has been described as a “post-Happy Hour dance party, time-shifted for a stressed workforce desperately in need of the kind of pleasure receptor-boosting aerobic exercise that doesn’t involve a gym membership.”
Michael ditched vinyl and CDs as soon as he figured out how to get a great mix out of his Macbook Pro and has never looked back.
He blogs at: michaelmhughes.com, and can be found on Facebook and Twitter.
