Rekordbox 4.0.6
The latest Rekordbox update now lets you map Rekordbox DJ functions to third party Midi controllers, and is now compatible with the CDJ2000NXS2 and DJM900NXS2.

Pioneer DJ just released a new version of Rekordbox that lets you map its controls to any Midi controller. Now at v4.0.6, Rekordbox lets you assign software controls in Rekordbox DJ Performance Mode to hardware devices such as mixer EQ and volume faders, sampler pads, and even effect knobs and buttons. You still won’t be able to map jogwheel controls, however. The update also brings compatibility with Pioneer DJ’s latest CDJ2000NXS2 media player and DJM900NXS2 mixer.

Rekordbox made a splash last year when Pioneer DJ announced the Rekordbox DJ add-on pack that turns the software into a laptop and controller DJing solution, joining the ranks of Traktor, Serato DJ, and Virtual DJ. While the initial release seemed like a wall in for the Pioneer DJ ecosystem, this latest update opens up the software to non-Pioneer DJ hardware, or at least most of its controls anyway since you’re still unable to assign jogwheel control – controllerists with gridpads and fader / knob banks will have a field day though.
