Serato has just announced the Korg Kaoss DJ, right on the eve of NAMM 2015, a compact DJ controller in a lightweight and portable all-in-one unit, meant for tight studios, DJ bags and for travel. The Kaoss DJ has touch sensitive platters like the old Stanton SCS3.DJ, as well as touch control for loops, hot cues and FX in Serato DJ Intro. Transport controls, sync and library scrolling / loading are provided on the controller alongside 3-band EQ, headphone level, headphone balance, channel gain and master level controls.
LED level meters located on the sides of the unit, provide you with great visual feedback while mixing, but what sets this device apart is the built in Kaoss Pad, giving 120 different programs and complex touch pad controlcontrol to shape your sound and add interest.
Full details of the FX and this intriguing little unit over on the Serato website, and you can watch a video too. Here’s our talkthrough video.
So, finally a tiny Serato controller that lets you Dj almost anywhere. Do you like the look of it? Is it a fun thing to have touchpad FX built right in there? Let us know your thoughts below.
