The Pioneer DDJ-WeGO3 has just been announced for Algoriddim’s djay 2 software on iPad or iPhone, letting you mix from either your own library or the millions of tunes available on Spotify. The unit has jogwheels and a mixer built-in plus access to loops, FX, pitch controls, EQ and sync. There’s a built-in iOS device stand, and it charges your iOS device too while you DJ.
As well as working with Algoriddim’s djay 2 software – letting you use your local music library or access the complete catalogue of Spotify – the unit works with Virtual DJ 8 and Serato DJ Intro, giving you the option of using it with your laptop as well. It has a brushed aluminium top-plate for durability.
By the look of the software version, Algoriddim has redesigned the view to remove unnecessary duplication of features to give a more streamlined look and more clarity between the iPad/iPhone’s display and the hardware controls, which is a good step forwards.
• Pioneer’s DDJ-WeGO3 is available from September at a suggested retail price of €299. More details on the Pioneer website, or watch a walkthrough vides here.
