As exclusively revealed on Digital DJ Tips 3 days ago, Numark has a new controller in its range, the NS6, which we can confirm is for Serato ITCH software.
The Numark NS6 is a younger brother to the high-end NS7, but boasts four decks of Serato ITCH control, unlike Pioneer’s just-announced DDJ-T1. It is also a standalone 4-channel DJ mixer that can be used without the computer.
With four line inputs, two phono inputs, two mike inputs and XLR outputs, it is definitely a flexible centrepiece to a modern Serato ITCH set-up, and joins the Xone:DX on the shortlist of controllers that can take advantage of Serato ITCH’s 4-deck capability. Full info on Numark’s website.
Other gear
In addition, Numark has announced several other products. Those of interest to Digital DJ Tips readers are possibly these two:
-
DJ 2 GO – This is a tiny DJ controller designed to sit in front of your laptop to provide compact and simple access to MP3 files. It has no on-board sound card so it’s not an all-in-one solution, but if it comes in at a very low price point it might make sense to minimalists
- iDJ Live – This is the ION Audio iCUE 3 DJ controller that we reviewed last year – a budget first controller, rebadged and tweaked to work with the iPad, and by the look of it running djay software. While gimmicky, it is also undeniably pretty neat – it is the first of its kind and looks like fun. It also looks like if you use the touchscreen you’ll knock the whole lot over!
The rest…
There are also a set of monitor speakers, two iPod-docking DJ mixers to allow you to record on your iPod or stream music from it through the mixer, a USB mixer, some headphones and a couple of CD/multi-format players. Read about all of the rest of the new kit on Numark’s website.
The big news, of course, is the Numark S6, and we can’t wait to get our hands on one for a full review.
